Teachers' Day (INDIA): 5th September
Teachers’ day is celebrated in India on 5th September
on the birth date of Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, independent India’s first
vice-president and second president and a great educational reformer and
teacher. When it was said to him that we Indians want to celebrate his birth
date year after year all over India his reply was a sentence to behold. He said
that he would be happier if his birthday was celebrated as a tribute
to all teachers. Such were the aspires of this great person. In India, students obviously celebrate this day with great fun and enthusiasm…
show their teachers the gratitude they are wirthy of, organize functions, etc..For me this day really has a great significance for I have got such teacher(s) in my life which very few get. They opened new frontiers for me… somewhere I may say it is these special teachers who help me believe in my capabilities or push me forward… take the best out of me. Its like people say that EXPERIENCE is the BEST TEACHER, for me having you as a teacher is the BEST EXPERIENCE… Many a times I think that may be many of the dreams that I see, hopes that are born into me are due to them… they helped me dream… dream very high and then work towards them. I respect them for all they have done for me and are still doing. This is the last year in this school… some six months left and then everything will change. I won’t ever forget them but I fear if I shall ever get teachers who are so cooperating and friendly… I don’t know.
